GET PAID to Promote your Shows on Whatnot! Becoming a Whatnot Ambassador

Are you already selling on Whatnot and interested in becoming a Whatnot Ambassador? This will allow you to not only earn money from selling on Whatnot, but also earn actual cash (not credit) by promoting and streaming your live shows! 

What is a Whatnot Ambassador?

A Whatnot Ambassador is a seller who partners with Whatnot to promote the platform, and earn a commission on enrollment, generated through their unique affiliate link. It's a great way to monetize your online presence and share your love for Whatnot with your audience.

When you begin your journey as a seller on Whatnot you are immediately given the opportunity to earn credits by selling your invite link. It should look something like http://whatnot.com/invite/vintagebeedesign. When you share this link, someone follows it, creates an account, AND makes THEIR FIRST PURCHASE. You, as a seller, and the new Whatnot buyer, will be given a $15 credit. You can use this for any of your individual purchases. (Credits are never available on shipping charges.) Personally, I've earned hundreds of dollars of whatnot credits, allowing me to buy items for my store and for my house. 

When you are approved for the Whatnot Ambassador Program, you earn $25 CASH to your account, instead of the $15 credit. This means it's credited to your ledger and can cash out the same way you do for your shows' payouts. In either case, sharing your link and having a new buyer sign up, that new buyer will earn $15 credit for their first purchase!  

For me, I wish that I had started this plan sooner. 

I don't remember when I joined the Ambassador program, but you can pretty easily see that I could have made as much as an extra $2,500 this year. While I'm quite happy with the extra $775 I've made, I wish someone had told me about this program sooner! 

How to Get Started

I know you are wondering what the requirements are to become a Whatnot Ambassador. Honestly, I don't know and cannot find anything that outright states the requirements. Other Whatnot programs require that you have at least 1000 social follower on some platform. It doesn't seem to require that you have a business page or any regularity of posting. This means, to me, that if you've been holding regular Whatnot shows, have no violations, and have passed your 1000 sales mark (where WN trusts you enough to pay you in advance for sales), you are probably Ambassador material. 

1. Sign up: The first step is to sign up for the Whatnot Ambassador program. Fill out the application form and wait for approval.

2. Share your affiliate link: Include your unique affiliate link in your content to track enrollment back to you. The more clicks and purchases made through your link, the more commission you'll earn.

3. Attend the online onboarding session. 

Tips for Success

1. Stream your live shows to Facebook and/or YouTube. Your viewers will not be able to make purchases through these platforms, but they will get your link, to join, on each stream. When they join, they are more likely to attend your shows and purchase items through you! 

2. Include your link on all of your social media promotions for your shows. If you advertise your shows on social media, be sure to include not only your show link, but also your affiliate link to join. After all, if someone sees something they may want in an upcoming show, you want them to join with your link, not joining without it! 

3. If you create video content, include your affiliate link in the links "shared below". EX: We share a lot of estate sale shopping on our YouTube channel. We let watchers know that our items will be for sale in an upcoming Whatnot show, then provide the link in the description of the video. 

4. Track your performance: Monitor your Affiliate link performance to see which strategies are working best for you. Adjust your approach accordingly to maximize your earnings. This tab will appear under your Seller portal on Whatnot once approved. You will not be able to access it through the app, only online, however.
